The Royal Horticultural Society’s Nurseries in Wisley, is a large garden and nursery with three climate zone glasshouse’s, an educational space and growing lab. It’s very popular, making it the second most visited garden and nursery in the country. Becoming concerned that the original matting was beginning to be slippery due the humidity, heat and large amounts of water the RHS needed a new solution. So a new slip resistant solution was required that could cope with the hot and damp conditions, plus the high levels of footfall as well as wheeled traffic.
✔️ Ideal for wet and damp conditions
✔️ Provides good slip-resistance for pedestrian and wheeled traffic
✔️ Excellent drainage properties
✔️ Good resistance to mould and algae growth
✔️ Available cut to size or in full rolls up to 10 metres
After working closely with the RHS, supplying various samples this allowed us to test the suitability against the humid and wet environment. As a result Vynagrip was chosen and installed and replaced the old rubber matting along the walkways and entrance’s. Due to the open mesh construction this allows for quick drainage of large amounts of water while maintaining it’s slip resistance when wet as it has a deep etched surface. Manufactured from PVC, Vynagrip is non-porous and impervious to mould, algae and other liquids such as oils and various chemicals making it very suitable for wet environments. It is produced with two layers forming an open grid providing an excellent conformable walking surface. The walkway was installed with ramped edging which was cold paste welded to provide and help with the movement of carts and wheeled traffic.
An ideal matting for slippery environments, Vynagrip provides a heavy-duty solution to withstand all types of workplace liquids.
